Gill and Neil welcome you to the licensed restaurant at Bangors. Booking is essential with 24 hours notice. Gill's renowned cooking is based on the great flavours of very fresh produce. From garden to plate can be counted in minutes, and Gill is happiest when the cabbage squeaks and the flavours sing. Gill says that she prefers 'freshness to poncey', but her cooking is far from basic and local diners return again and again to a chef that allows natural flavours priority. The dining room is elegant, calm and unfussy with a good wine list, and always fresh baked bread.
The organic gardens are a delight to walk through, and Neil is always keen to show visitors around. The five acre site has had eight years of soil association accreditation and Neil has made a name for himself locally as an expert organic gardener and is also picking up recognition much further afield. Neil supplies all the needs of the restaurant and also holds a regular farmers market in The Big Green Shed attended by other organic suppliers from the area.
